Hi a big lips fan, a big drozd fan. Favourite album would be In a Priest
Driven Ambulance. No Soft Bulletin. Or Clouds Taste Metallic. Or Transmissions
From The Satellite Heart. One of those, they are so different and can't
really be compared but they are definately equally brilliant. Hail the
lips, best band on the planet now, best band that has ever been.

My favorite Lips album is anything that Steven has played on '91 to
present. I love music and the Flaming Lips top the list. I'm a musician
as well, the melodies that Steven and Wayne create inspire me in all
aspects.

Hello thurr. I love the Flaming Lips...The Flaming Lips are right up
there with sleep and buffalo wings as, like, my favorite things, like,

and "The Soft Bulletin". Also, my dog likes to hump my backpack.

Kid Carpet, Daniel Johnston, and most importantly the Flaming Lips.
My favorite of their albums varies between In a Priest Driven Ambulance
and the Ego Tripping e.p. I wouldn't be where I am today without the
flaming lips!

Um, well, my appreciation for Steven is as a neo-psychedelic nerd, with
a soft spot for country and pop. I've been a lips fan for a long time,
saw them with 500,000 other people here in T.O. a few summers ago. Steven
started to shine for me after seeing the Fearless Freaks, and hearing
his work on the Okie Noodling soundtrack.

I'm a 21 year old Lips fanatic. It all started the first time i watched
a new show on MTV called 3rd South, which includes their hit Fight Test
as the theme. From there I bought everything lips i could find. My absolute
favorite album is got to be The Soft Bulletin, although Yoshimi was
the album that started it all for me. But featuring such tracks as The
Gash and Race for the Prize how couldn't it be your fav. This past summer
of 05 I was supposed to go and see the guys at the All Good Festival,
but god rest her soul my grandmother died. What can you do sometimes.
The real topper was that all of my friends actually met Wayne, Steven,
and Michael! But like I said what can you do sometimes. I love talking
about the guys so feel free to hit me up, as long as its worth my while.
ENJOY LIFE IT'S TOO SHORT!

I'm a drummer, well, I'm a keyboard player now, in a semi-original prog-rock
band called LLSD here in San Francisco. The Soft Bulletin finally pulled
me in, I hated the Flaming Lips before that. All that sonic mess, I
just wasn't ready. I bought and watched "Fearless Freaks" and I understand
that they sucked for years, and those were the same years that I hated.
Wayne and Steven found something, and they found something in me. That's
all I care about. Yes found something and I found something in them,
Komeda did the same thing, Rick James and The Fixx also belong to this
for me. Oh, and Genesis at any point before 1985.

I'm 16, and I definitely dig the Lips. Yoshimi Battles the Pink Robots
really helped me through a tough time in my life, and therefore I'm
pretty thankful. I haven't seen the Lips live yet, although the At War
With The Mystics tour is hopefully coming around here. It's very good
to hear that Steven is clean and doing well, because it would be a big
loss to the world if we were to lose such a talented multi-instrumentalist,
composer, arranger, and personality.

I think the club is fantastic idea. I first saw the Lips at the Orpheum
in Boston during the 2002 Beck tour and it was nothing short of life
changing. I've seen them several times since, but that night continues
to be a pretty defining moment. My favorite Lips record is a tie (cowardly,
I know...) between Clouds Taste Metallic and The Soft Bulletin. Obviously
Steven is musically a huge inspiration and for all practical purposes,
the finest pop arranger/ multi-instrumentalist of our generation. Thanks
for letting me geek out...

So, I grew up in Chico Ca. I descovered the Flaming Lips in the summer
of 2001. I was backpacking with my three older sisters through France
and Spain. We stoped for three days at a music festival called "FIB"
we were there to see Death Cab, Belle and Sebastian, and a few other
bands. We were sitting around checking out some of the bands when the
Flaming Lips were about to play. The Testing section came up with the
guy on the screen with the headphones on, this was amazing in itself
and we were hooked. The show blew us away, we had never seen a live
show like this. The bouncing balls, the gong, Race for the Prize, fake
blood...I loved it. I know live in Santa Rosa, and have seen the lips
live twice since. I have come to Appreciate Steven because of his work
on the Soft Bulletin, my favorite album of all time. I love learning
FLips songs on the piano, and playing them to my friends. Its breath
taking and beautiful, and I love it when they ask me who's song it is.
I have yet to meet Steven in person, but I would love to get a picture
with him at some point, I admire his talent. I just got ticktets to
the show next month in San Francsico, and its going to be great...already
excited. Thanks for reading. -Brian

i am a high school art teacher with a wife and two kids. i was first
turned on to the lips as were most by their single "she dont use jelly".
i bought the single and no other lips material for 13 years. i was way
too angry and into metal to buy any more. in hindsight, if i had gotten
more into the lips i would probably have had fewer 'issues' during that
13 year span. after reading an article in oklahoma today about the lips
i decided to give them another try and am hooked. i have about two thirds
of their catalog as of now and will eventually have it all. if i had
to pick one album i would go with 'at war with the mystics'. it just
seems so complete to me. i have yet to see them live but it is on my

Simply put, The Flaming Lips' music has hit me with as much force as
a locomotive would have. My first introduction to the Lips was when
I heard "Do You Realize??" I can honestly say that this has been the
only song to touch me emotionally on two distict (or any) occations.
The power that their songs are able to emmit is almost uncomprehendable.
Now I show my appreciation to people who I care about by giving them
a Lips' album as a gift.
