About the Webmaster
My name is Nell Shaw Cohen. I am a 20-year-old composer from New York. In fall 2008 I will begin study at New England Conservatory in Boston, MA. You can hear professional recordings of my work at www.nellshawcohen.com. Naturally, I am particularly interested in vocal music. I plan to compose and direct a chamber opera within the next few years.
I am currently developing a website/organization called New Music for Early Instruments, a resource for composers like myself who wish to write for instruments of the Renaissance and Baroque.
In addition to music, I have done semi-professional web design and illustration for several years. My design portfolio, and some other things, can be found at my homepage.
