I was born in 1988 in San Francisco, CA and raised in California and Long Island, NY. I currently attend the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, MA, where I study classical composition. I focus on composing music for chamber ensembles, orchestra and large ensembles, and classical voice, and producing videos and online media relating to music and art history. Before 2007, I performed and recorded rock music under the pseudonyms Nell & the Nellettes and Nell James (under which I recorded and released an album, Tempus). I've also been creating visual art and digital art of various kinds (video, web design, illustration) since childhood.
