* The SpongeBob
Squarepants movie, for which The Shins are contributing a brand new
song, is set to open November 19. The soundtrack is set for release November
5 and features many groovy bands.
* The DVD of "Garden
State", which used songs from "Oh, Inverted World", will
be released December 28.
* The soundtrack for "Garden State" has been in the top 5 sellers
on Amazon.com for two months, and both Shins albums have placed in the top 100
with "Oh, Inverted World" reaching the top 20. Hot damn!
* The band performed
on Austin City
Limits in mid-September. The episode will air December 18.
* KROQ (106.7 FM in L.A.) has added "New Slang"
to their playlist. That's awesome, as they are biggest alternative rock station
in the U.S. The station's website names the "Garden State" soundtrack
among their most played albums.
