* James has written an original score for the documentary film "Towlines" by Matt McCormick, who also directed the "Past & the Pending" music video. Visit this website to order the DVD.

* The SpongeBob Squarepants movie, for which The Shins are contributing a brand new song, is set to open November 19. The soundtrack is set for release November 5 and features many groovy bands.
* The DVD of "Garden State", which used songs from "Oh, Inverted World", will be released December 28.
* The soundtrack for "Garden State" has been in the top 5 sellers on Amazon.com for two months, and both Shins albums have placed in the top 100 with "Oh, Inverted World" reaching the top 20. Hot damn!
* The band performed on Austin City Limits in mid-September. The episode will air December 18.
* KROQ (106.7 FM in L.A.) has added "New Slang" to their playlist. That's awesome, as they are biggest alternative rock station in the U.S. The station's website names the "Garden State" soundtrack among their most played albums.

* The band will be appearing on Gilmore Girls tonight on the WB! Set the VCRs for 8:00pm!
* SubPop has some groovy new Shins stuff in their Shins store, including a 7" picture disc for So Says I/When I Goose-Step.

* I've added a "tour" section to this webpage. The Shins are all over the place all the time and I'll be doing my best to keep this site very up to date, so check it out.

* The New Yorker lists Chutes Too Narrow as one of the "Best Albums of 2003" on page 14 of their current issue.
* Chutes Too Narrow is one of the year's "50 Best Albums" in Rolling Stone's "2003 Yearbook" issue.

* Entertainment Weekly's "Best of 2003" issue ("on newstands now" as they say) lists Chutes Too Narrow as the 4th Best Album of the Year.

* The Shins are scheduled to appear on David Letterman on Jan 13, as well as Conan O'Brien on Feb 17th and Last Call with Carson Daly the next week.
